What this does is match Tjader's first Fantasy LP, the rare 10" LP The Cal Tjader Trio (recorded in ), with the last album he did for the label, Breathe Easy. Though it's brief (none of the eight songs exceed three and a half minutes), The Cal Tjader Trio is a fine and important body of work, representing the time in which Tjader 's.

Mar 19,  · You can see their website here MUZAK -good music from MUZAK-». It's almost comical that Muzak would reissue Cal Tjader's music, but there it is. On my stereo these two CDs sound fantastic, quite vibrant. Muzak also reissued Cal Tjader's "Plugs In". A great album with probably the worst cover art in the history of cover art.

At first, this package of previously released sessions from the vinyl age appears to be quite an odd pairing. Though the reasons for compiling a session from along with another from (and Tjader recorded tons of albums between these 2 sessions) is simply because 1) They had not been re-issued yet onto CD, 2) They can both fit in full on a single CD without leaving any tracks off from 5/5(4).
