As had been the case with the Greatest Show on Earth's debut long-player, Horizons (), the follow-up, Going's Easy (), made very little impact despite their originality and certainly better-than-average material. The band's rather auspicious origins were the invention of EMI Records subsidiary Harvest, who set out to manufacture a British version of Blood, Sweat & Tears or Chicago.

The band had been conceived by Harvest Records in an attempt to create a horn-based rock combo, such as Blood, Sweat And Tears or Chicago (2). The band was also notable for its album covers, being designed by the artist group Hipgnosis (2).

The Hotel California album was much sharper and cleaner sounding than the Hits Vol.2 LP. This is not the first time I've noticed remastered LP's that were poorly done. You buy LP's to get better sounding music and when they mess it up with remastering it is more than disappointing/5().
