On December 1, , Oomph!'s official best-of album, Delikatessen (Delicacies) was released under the GUN label. The songs on it were hand-picked by the band itself. It contains tracks from all nine Oomph! albums, b-sides, remixes and never-heard before tracks like "The Power of Love" and "Gekreuzigt ".

Grudgingly, the band fulfilled its contract with Wunschkind in Oomph! signed with Virgin the following year, and their fifth album, 's Unrein, peaked in the Top 50 on the German charts. The band's second Virgin release, Plastik, hit stores the following year.

This album contains really heavy riffs. I mean, they are literally everywhere! Check out "Born-Praised-Kissed", "Wunschkind" or "Krüppel" to see what I mean. As a company for the guitars, we have synths. They are very dark, sometimes atmospheric and in very special sequences even danceable. This doesn't mean that this album is something to.

Wunschkind is argueably their best album, and it's clearly one of their most overlooked and underrated. Oomph is already well known for diversifying their music on an album to album basis, but this album is highly experimental even for them, you could place a good three or four subgenres just within his album/5(10).

It is the first cd by Oomph! and probably my favorite so far. It is mostly electronic with a few guitars mixed in, but they fit with the music. They sound a lot like Nitzer Ebb or early Orange Sector at this point in their careers. They slowly turn more metal and less electronic after this cd, but this disc /5(14).
